Beer Sticks Bread Cheddar Cheese Bread: A Franconian Delight

Franconian is excited to introduce a mouth-watering recipe that combines the savoury delight of our Beer Sticks with the rich, melty goodness of cheddar cheese. Our “Beer Sticks and Cheddar Cheese Pull-Apart Bread” is the perfect addition to any gathering, offering a warm, cheesy, and irresistibly tasty treat that’s sure to impress. Follow this recipe to create a culinary masterpiece that showcases the best of Franconian’s flavours.

Ingredients:

  • 1 large loaf of crusty bread (sourdough or Italian works well)
  • 8 Franconian Beer Sticks, thinly sliced
  • 150g of grated cheddar cheese (preferably mature for extra flavour)
  • 45g of unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small bunch of fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Begin your culinary adventure by warming the oven to 180°C. This step ensures bread gets perfectly crispy and warm. It prepares for the delicious fillings to blend well inside.
  2. Prepare the Bread: Select a large, crusty loaf of bread as your base. Use a sharp knife to make diagonal incisions 5cm apart on the loaf top. Avoid cutting all the way through. Rotate the loaf and repeat in the opposite direction. This creates a diamond pattern. It looks impressive and lets filling settle into crevices.
  3. Add the Beer Sticks and Cheese: Thinly slice Franconian Beer Sticks, ensuring each piece is just the right thickness to tuck into the bread’s cuts. Generously stuff these slices, along with a hearty amount of grated cheddar cheese, into the bread. The aim is to fill every cut with a delightful combination of meat and cheese, promising a burst of flavour with every bite.
  4. Flavour the Butter: Mix melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, mustard powder, and salt and pepper in a bowl. Brush this mixture liberally over and into the loaf. It infuses the bread with flavour during baking. This ensures each piece is moist, aromatic, and tasty.
  5. Bake: Wrap the prepared loaf in foil to retain moisture and place it on a baking tray. Initially, bake it covered to allow the heat to gently melt the cheese and warm the Beer Sticks, then uncover for the final 10 minutes to achieve a golden, crispy exterior that contrasts beautifully with the soft, melted interior.
  6. Serve: After baking, let the bread rest before presenting to guests. Enjoy the communal, cheesy, savoury pull-apart bread. Its warmth creates stringy cheese, offering a fun, tasty eating experience
